In conjunction with the Pittsfield Township Historical Commission, the Pittsfield Township Historical Society strives to identify, preserve, restore, and facilitate public access to historic structures and sites in Pittsfield Township.

Pittsfield Township already has acquired and protected a number of historic structures and areas, such as the Sutherland-Wilson Farmstead and the Pittsfield Preserve. The rich histories of these resources will be shared on this website.

This website also will identify other historic structures and areas -- extent or long gone -- which played an important role in the history of Pittsfield Township, and will strive to record the histories of those facilities as well. Among these are the early schools of Pittsfield Township and a number of sites related to the underground railroad.
